Born April 13, 1983 - Phillip Donell Brent, better known as DaiN, is an underground hip-hop artist born in the city of New Orleans. This MC/producer now resides in Portland where he has hopes to bring noise to the lackluster hip-hop scene in the city of roses. DaiN became a fan of hip-hop music and culture in his early teens and was a connoisseur of gospel, jazz, soul, funk and the blues music as a small child. But that's not without the upbringing and influence brought from his mother, Melanie Pichon-Smith, who is an author, a teacher, an world renown evangelist, and more so impressive - served as an active solider in Iraq.
