Moth

Moth is Tim Alexander, a noise artist and sculptor. Alexander produced his early work in Los Angeles for galleries, museums, and collectors throughout the 80's and 90's while performing with noise-multimedia troop, Points of Friction, whom inspired the SoCal Noise scene for over 20 years following their break-up, developing legendary status to the modern L.A. scene. Currently Alexander performs with Fiasco, Joyfull Noiz Band, and Abusive/Consumer. P.O.F. reunited in 2004, for a release on Melon Expander Recorders. The Moth disappears into his surroundings by day, and later is irresistibly drawn to any bright unknown, uncrowning night secrets. Just for the playing of them, sometimes he’ll play sounds; sometimes while playing with sounds not meant for ears or intended for unaesthetic ears and organizing sounds between, within, known, and unremembered sounds, he’ll construct an artifice to be held against the sky and squinted at.
